Hi! I am a PhD student in the Brain and Mind Institute at the University of Western Ontario and Vector Institute, supervised by Dr. Yalda Mohsenzadeh. My Korean name is 혜원.

My research interest broadly lies in cognitive computational neuroscience and neuroAI. The brain is often called the last frontier of science because the fundamental principles underlying brain function remain largely unclear. However, recent advances in AI raise interesting questions on this issue: Can we use AI to understand and explore the brain? Can we apply neuroscientific knowledge to build more advanced machine intelligence? My interest in the brain and AI starts from these questions.

Currently, I am particularly interested in representational alignment between natural and artificial intelligence, modelling the brain with neural networks, and exploring cognitive function through the lens of AI. During my PhD, I am focusing on applying generative neural network models to goal-driven research in cognitive neuroscience.
